8 Things That Happened, and Two Things That Didn't (250=1)

He rode his bike, fast, down the hill, down down down pedaling with as much strength as his legs could muster, barely even slowing down, and then over the wooden jump into the sand pit, where he and the bike went head over heels and it landed on him. All he got was a bruise.
“So what does it say?” He asked his wife.

He was nervous.

“If it was bad news, the doctor wouldn’t have put it in a letter,” she said.

She was right.

There was a bone in his fish, at the restaurant.

He saw it, and picked it out, setting it to the side.

He never ordered fish, again.

He grew old.

8 Things That Happened, And Two Things That Didn’t.

He got married, but they never had children.

He kept getting nosebleeds.

Then they stopped.

He never knew why.

Once, he dreamed that he was stabbed.  In the dream, he was on a hillside, in the snow. A man leapt out from behind a tree that hadn’t been there a second before, and stabbed him.

He woke up, still holding his side, and didn’t stop shaking until he went to the bathroom mirror and saw: nothing.

Outside the bar, the guy was waiting for him.  So were his friends. He still didn’t know: why him?

Why me?” he wondered, and tried to defend himself.

He was kicked in the head four times, and then they left. He called in sick to work, the next day.
